Happy New Year everyone!

Our next York University/Ontario Reggio Association pedagogical documentation study session is set for Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 10:00 – 12. We will meet once again in Room 283B in Winters College at York. There will be signs posted on the front doors of the college to guide you to the room.

These sessions are offered so that people that work with documentation may be supported in their efforts. People that attend come from a variety of fields of interest including: educators and administrators from private and not-for-profit child care groups, independent schools, and public boards of education. Also, artists (dancers, graphic designers, costume designers, painters, etc.), researchers (from education, child development, psychology, policy), parents and family groups, students (college, undergraduate and graduate programs of study), and post secondary instructors and professors participate. Everyone is welcome. A diversity of perspectives allows us, as readers of the documentation, the opportunity to notice and interpret what we think we see in the collected research of children in a multitude of ways and expands our range of possibilities of understandings of children’s thinking and what it means to learn.

Please bring documentation in any form or stage of development. Some people might bring a few pieces of information that they have documented (photos, notes, etc.) while others might bring larger selections of past work they would like to use for reflection. You may also attend without documentation if you are interested in learning more about pedagogical documentation and the ways that we approach studying documentation together.

Last time we met on December 17th we had a full house registered but unfortunately the date coincided with a major winter snowstorm that affected everyone’s plans. Please remember this is our second month registering using Eventbrite and the numbers are limited. If you do register but then aren’t able to make it please be sure to cancel your registration through Eventbrite so that others might attend.
